move boot
About this tag
The move boot tag on WindowsForum.com covers discussions about relocating Windows Boot Manager from one drive to another. Users often encounter issues where the boot manager resides on a secondary drive, causing boot failures when that drive is removed. Topics include moving boot files to the primary system drive, using tools like bcdedit or bootrec, and ensuring the correct drive is set as active. These threads provide step-by-step guidance for troubleshooting boot configuration errors and safely transferring boot responsibilities between drives in multi-drive setups.
Hi all,
I have been trying to remove this hard drive as there are no longer any files on it. But it appears that some part of the boot process happens on this drive?
Once I remove the drive windows fails to boot up.
How do I move the boot manager off the I drive and on to the c drive?
