About this tag
MS12-036 is a critical security bulletin from Microsoft that addresses a vulnerability in the Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP). This privately reported flaw could allow remote code execution if an attacker sends specially crafted RDP packets to an affected system. The update resolves the issue and is rated critical for all supported Windows versions. By default, RDP is not enabled on any Windows operating system, so systems without RDP enabled are not at risk. The bulletin includes detection changes and reoffering corrections for Windows Vista packages. Users who have already applied the update do not need further action.
