MS12-063 is a critical security update for Internet Explorer that addresses one publicly disclosed and four privately reported vulnerabilities. The most severe of these could allow remote code execution if a user views a specially crafted webpage using Internet Explorer. An attacker who successfully exploited any of these vulnerabilities could gain the same user rights as the current user. Users with fewer user rights on the system could be less impacted than those with administrative user rights. This update was released out-of-band in September 2012 to address limited attacks against a small number of computers running Internet Explorer versions 9 and earlier. Microsoft encouraged users to apply the update as quickly as possible.
