About this tag
The network monitor tag on WindowsForum.com collects discussions where Windows users keep an eye on connectivity, bandwidth, and display sharing across their machines. A recent example covers turning an old laptop into a second monitor in Windows 10 and 11 with spacedesk, a setup that depends on a working local network connection between the host and the client device. The thread walks through which machine needs which software, what the free tier actually covers, and why a direct HDMI link cannot replace the network path. It is useful reading for anyone troubleshooting or planning a networked display arrangement on Windows.
