non uefi
About this tag
The tag non uefi refers to motherboards and systems that use the traditional BIOS firmware instead of the newer UEFI standard. In the context of Windows 8.1 installation and activation, a non UEFI board can affect the installation process and compatibility with certain Windows features. Users may encounter issues when trying to activate Windows after a motherboard replacement, especially if the original installation was non UEFI. The tag covers discussions about hardware compatibility, installation media, and activation challenges related to non UEFI systems.
