About this tag
The tag normal.res refers to a system resource file in Windows that controls certain visual elements, such as taskbar font colors. Users seeking to customize these default settings often turn to third-party tools like Restorator to export the normal.res file and a hex editor like XVI32 to modify it. Discussions on WindowsForum.com highlight the challenges of editing this file manually, as locating the correct hex values requires experience. This tag is relevant for advanced users interested in Windows customization beyond standard settings, particularly for altering taskbar appearance without built-in options.
