About this tag
This tag covers discussions about odd devices appearing on Windows networks, particularly in the network infrastructure list. Users report seeing unrecognized devices after network discovery turns on automatically, often alongside file and print sharing settings reverting to enabled. The tag includes troubleshooting for Windows 8 and later versions where network discovery keeps enabling itself, revealing unknown devices such as routers, modems, or other hardware. Common themes involve wireless connections, routers, cable modems, and homegroup settings. The content focuses on identifying and managing these unexpected network devices to improve security and network clarity.
