ost
About this tag
Discussions on WindowsForum.com about OST files focus on Outlook offline data files used with Exchange or IMAP accounts. Common issues include Outlook creating a PST instead of an OST for IMAP accounts, converting OST files to PST after an Exchange account is deleted, recurring OST file corruption in Outlook 2007 across different PCs and OS versions, and methods to repair corrupt OST files beyond built-in utilities like scanost. Users also seek help locating OST files for backup in Windows 7, as the default folder is hidden. Troubleshooting often involves deleting the OST file or recreating the mail profile, but recurring corruption prompts deeper investigation.
