About this tag
The panel profiles tag on WindowsForum.com collects discussion of desktop panel layouts and how they shape everyday workflow, with a focus on Xfce Panel Profiles and the Unity and macOS-style arrangements they make possible. The tagged content highlights Xfce's flexibility: a lower taskbar can preserve Windows-style spatial habits, a top panel with a launcher can resemble Unity, and a dock plus global menu can suggest macOS. This matters to people moving from Windows, running mixed Windows and Linux machines, or wanting a familiar workflow without abandoning a lightweight desktop environment. The recurring theme is the distinction between changing a panel layout and replacing the whole desktop environment.
