About this tag
Paragon Migrate is a tool used to transfer an operating system from one drive to another, typically from a hard disk to an SSD. In a WindowsForum.com discussion, a user describes using Paragon Migrate OS to SSD 4.0 to move the C: partition of a Dell XPS 8700 from Windows 8.1 to an SSD. The migration worked initially, but later caused issues when attempting to upgrade to Windows 10, which failed repeatedly on the original SSD while succeeding on the original hard drive. The user found that others with similar problems had also used Paragon's software, suggesting a potential compatibility issue with Windows 10 upgrades after migration.

I
Windows 10 Boot record messed up.
This Dell XPS 8700 started out at Windows 8.1. Before I even started using it, I used Paragon's Migrate OS to SSD 4.0 to move the C: partition to an SSD and be able to boot to it. Prior to doing that I shrunk down the original C: to basically match the SSD size and created another data partition...- IrvSp
