Parity space is a storage layout in Windows Server that provides fault tolerance by distributing parity information across multiple drives, similar to RAID-5. In Windows Server 2012 R2, users may find that parity space options are not available in Disk Management, which only offers simple, spanned, striped, mirrored, and RAID-5 volumes.
