partimage
About this tag
Partimage is an open-source disk imaging tool discussed in a WindowsForum thread about migrating multiple operating systems to a new hard drive. The user describes using Partimage to create bit-by-bit images of partitions containing Windows XP, Windows 7 RC, and several Linux distributions before transferring them to a larger drive. The tool is used for partition-level backup and restoration, particularly in multi-boot setups. The thread highlights practical considerations when using Partimage for OS migration, including partition formatting and swap space management.
