    I tried this and I can't tell if it works or not. When I defrag & optimize it never stops going thru passes. I stopped it at pass 15 but there was no evidence that anything was corrected. Anybody know anything about this Thanks

    Windows 7 Windows Disk Defragmenter

    When doing some defragmenting on a Windows 7 machine, I notice that there is different passes that occur. Does anyone have information on what exactly is going on in each pass? I am curious as to what is going on in depth with these "passes". Thanks.
