path length

About this tag
Discussions on WindowsForum.com about path length focus on the 260-character limit in Windows and the errors it causes, such as "Destination/Source path too long" and "Filename too long for destination folder." Users report problems with file operations like copying, moving, deleting, and backup restoration when paths exceed the limit. Common scenarios include deeply nested folders, long file names, and recursive folder structures. Solutions discussed include shortening names, using alternative tools, and enabling long path support in newer Windows versions. The tag covers troubleshooting these errors and managing path length constraints in Windows environments.
