    Windows 7 How do I prevent windows allowing users to generate filenames/paths longer than 260 caracthers

    My office pals are constantly creating lenghy file names and folders that surpass windows limits, which is causing problems when I perform or restore backups. Is there a way to just stop windows from letting a user write or copy a file which exceeds the limits imposed by the OS itself?. I´ve...

    Destination/Source path too long- try by shortening

    Dear Geeks, We are facing the "Destination/ Source path too long - try by shortening the name ". Some times users are unable to access the files on file server because of path too long. So what is solution for this without shortening the names ? Thanks in Advance.

    Windows 7 "Filename too long for destination folder"??? How to allow long filenames?

    Much to my surprise Win7 told me ina popup that a filename with approx. 30 chars is too long for the destination folder when I try to move the file to another directory. From my point of view the concatenated path+filename is long but not too long. At least there would be no error under good...
