About this tag
Discussions about permanent changes on WindowsForum.com focus on making system or application settings persist across reboots and sessions. Common issues include Windows 11 file dialogue grouping by time reverting after changes, Realtek wireless adapter properties resetting on reboot, and Windows Media Player 12 settings not saving. Users seek methods to enforce their preferences permanently, often involving registry edits, group policy, or driver configuration. The tag covers troubleshooting for settings that do not stick, with emphasis on Windows 11, network adapters, and media player customization.
