About this tag
Discussions tagged with 'php files' on WindowsForum.com focus on issues where web servers deliver downloads through PHP scripts rather than direct file links. A common problem involves Internet Explorer failing to prompt for downloads when clicking links that point to .php files, even though the files are actually saved to the Downloads folder. Users report that right-clicking and selecting 'Save As' works correctly, and restarting the browser temporarily resolves the issue. Troubleshooting steps include disabling Protected Mode and adjusting security settings under Internet Options. These threads highlight how PHP-based file delivery can cause unexpected behavior in older browsers like IE8.
