physical connection

About this tag
Discussions tagged with physical connection cover issues where a device is detected by Windows but fails to function properly due to the connection method. In one example, an external USB hard drive appears in Device Manager and drive lists but shows no volume and hangs when accessed. This suggests the physical USB connection is recognized, yet the drive cannot be read, possibly due to driver, power, or interface problems. Troubleshooting steps often involve checking cables, ports, and power supplies, or trying the drive on another computer to isolate the fault. The tag focuses on hardware-level connectivity problems rather than software or network issues.
