pnp device id

About this tag
The PNP Device ID is a unique identifier assigned by Windows to each piece of Plug and Play hardware. It is visible in System Information under Hardware Resources, where it helps the operating system recognize and load the correct driver for a device. Forum discussions show users encountering the PNP Device ID when troubleshooting audio drivers, such as for Realtek or ATI HDMI Audio, where the ID string includes vendor and device codes. The tag covers how to locate this ID, interpret its components, and use it to resolve driver issues or understand hardware configuration.
