program selection
About this tag
The program selection tag on WindowsForum.com covers user questions about choosing and managing default programs for opening files, as well as improving the visual feedback when switching between applications using ALT+TAB. Common topics include setting Notepad as the default text editor in Windows 7, dealing with persistent file association prompts for video files, and troubleshooting pop-ups that ask which program to use for unknown file types. Users also discuss disabling the feature that remembers the last opened location for a program, which can cause errors when that location no longer exists. The tag focuses on practical solutions for controlling program selection behavior in Windows.
