ps/2 mouse
About this tag
The PS/2 mouse tag on WindowsForum.com covers issues related to PS/2 mouse and keyboard devices in Windows 7 environments. Common problems include devices not being recognized after system upgrades, driver conflicts where Windows incorrectly identifies a PS/2 mouse alongside a USB mouse, and persistent phantom PS/2 devices that Windows reloads even after disabling or uninstalling them. Users also report scenarios where a PS/2 keyboard works to bypass USB input failures, but a PS/2 mouse may not function due to limited ports. Troubleshooting steps often involve driver updates, device manager cleanup, and system restore points.
