About this tag
The tag 'puis' refers to the Power-Up In Standby setting for hard drives, which became a concern for Windows users during the Windows 10 Technical Preview build 9879. Discussions on WindowsForum.com highlight reports that enabling puis could potentially brick hard drives, particularly affecting certain models. Users share experiences with different hard drive brands, noting that Western Digital drives typically have puis disabled by default, which may reduce risk. The tag covers troubleshooting and user experiences related to this specific storage setting in early Windows 10 builds.
