quick deletion
About this tag
The quick deletion tag on WindowsForum.com covers methods for rapidly deleting files and folders in Windows without the usual permission hurdles. Discussions focus on bypassing the 'You need to provide administrator permissions' prompt when deleting folder trees copied from other computers. Users seek alternatives to taking ownership, disabling UAC, or adding their user to the admin group. Common requests include a 'delete as administrator' context menu extension or one-time deletion solutions that avoid permanent system changes. The tag addresses practical troubleshooting for permission-related deletion issues in File Explorer.
I copied a folder tree from another computer in LAN onto my local computer.
After some work I want to delete this folder tree on my local computer.
When I right-click in File Explorer on the top node and select "delete" then a popup tells me:
"You need to provide administrator permissions"...
