About this tag
This tag covers user reports of random characters appearing in Windows, often linked to browser issues in Microsoft Edge or USB keyboard malfunctions. In one case, Edge displayed random characters when entering web addresses, alongside frequent errors and forced upgrades. Another user traced random character typing to a USB keyboard that caused system sleep issues. A third report describes keyboard input producing random letters, resolved temporarily by uninstalling Windows Live or using system restore. These threads suggest random characters can stem from software conflicts, hardware problems, or browser behavior in Windows environments.
