random display failures
About this tag
Random display failures on Windows often involve monitors not being detected at boot, even when hardware and drivers are up to date. In one case, a dual-monitor setup on Windows 10 22H2 would randomly fail to show the main display on startup, while the secondary monitor worked fine. A reboot always resolved the issue for the session. This pattern suggests the problem may be related to boot-time initialization or GPU handshake rather than permanent hardware faults. Users experiencing random display failures should check cable connections, try different ports, and ensure graphics drivers are current. If the issue persists, adjusting power settings or disabling fast startup in Windows may help stabilize monitor detection during boot.
