random folders
About this tag
The tag 'random folders' on WindowsForum.com covers user reports of unexplained folders appearing on drives, often with hexadecimal names like '2b174a7b6cd269132e8dd780'. These folders may be empty on Windows 7/8/8.1 or contain a 'SandBox' folder on Windows 10. Some cannot be deleted even with administrator rights. The tag also includes cases where opening certain folders causes Windows Explorer to crash, linked to broader system instability issues such as Aero failures and application crashes. Discussions focus on troubleshooting these folder appearances and related Windows Explorer problems.
So I have various desktops and all have more or less the same issue. In the root of each drive there are randomly named folders generated. Names like:
2b174a7b6cd269132e8dd780
52aebd6aec88ceb00badbc
32601669e81d70e5b9c7c8
ae888118d1365c5a165784ed221b20
So the only common thing seems to be that...
antivirus
bugs
data recovery
external drive
file deletion
file management
hexadecimal
malware
permissions
randomfolders
root directory
sandbox
system issues
tech support
usb drives
windows 10
windows 7
windows 8
windows update
I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-Bit with 6 Gigs of Ram.
I have all the latest drivers and all the latest updates.
Sometimes I turn on my computer and everything running perfectly.
Other times I turn it on and almost nothing will work.
The first thing I notice is that Aero isn't working...
