rc copy
About this tag
The tag 'rc copy' refers to Release Candidate copies of Windows 7, which are pre-release versions that expire after a certain date. Users discuss confusion about upgrading from RC copies to full retail versions, especially when multiple devices are involved. The RC copy of Windows 7 has a specific expiration date, such as June 1st 2010, and does not show a countdown until it expires. Topics include installation requirements for new builds, upgrading from Vista, and understanding activation status. The tag covers troubleshooting and planning for transitioning from RC to final Windows 7 releases.
