About this tag
The tag 'rc disk' on WindowsForum.com refers to Release Candidate discs for Windows 7. Users discuss upgrading from a Windows 7 RC disk to the final version, noting that an upgrade from RC requires a prior installation of Vista or XP. The RC disk also appears in retail box designs, where it is included as a placeholder instead of the final GA disk. Troubleshooting threads mention using a burnt RC disk for installation, encountering driver issues during setup, particularly with SATA hard drives and nForce motherboards. The tag covers topics related to Windows 7 RC installation, upgrade paths, and hardware compatibility during setup.
