rearm
About this tag
The rearm tag covers discussions about extending the evaluation period of Windows operating systems using the slmgr -rearm command. In Windows Vista and Windows 7, this command resets the activation timer, granting an additional 30 days. However, the rearm process is limited to three uses per image, providing up to 120 days total. Users have reported using this method to postpone activation deadlines, but caution is advised, such as backing up the OS before altering system dates. The tag also references issues when the rearm program is run too many times, as seen in Sysprep errors. Overall, rearm is a temporary activation extension tool for evaluation or troubleshooting scenarios.
Describes how to work around the issue that may occur if the Windows Software Licensing Rearm program has run more than three times in a single Windows Vista image.
