remove printer

About this tag
The remove printer tag covers discussions about removing printers from Windows, including USB printers that remain as inactive or grayed-out entries after disconnection. Users report issues with command-line tools like printui, Devcon, and PowerShell cmdlets such as remove-printer, remove-printerdriver, and remove-printerport failing when the printer is disconnected or powered off. In Windows 7, users can right-click and select Remove device to delete printer icons from the Devices and Printers folder. Troubleshooting focuses on removing printer drivers and ports to fully clean up orphaned printer entries.
