About this tag
Discussions about replacement parts on WindowsForum.com cover hardware repairs for speakers and PCs. One thread seeks advice on replacing a faulty potentiometer in Creative speakers for volume control, noting that the manufacturer does not sell the part. Another thread troubleshoots intermittent black screen after POST, exploring replacement of power supply and SATA cables as potential fixes. These posts reflect common DIY repair scenarios where users need to source and install replacement components for audio equipment and desktop computers.
I have a pair of speakers like these:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001RNOHDU/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER
On which the power/volume control on the right side of the primary speaker no longer works...that is that it no longer works for volume, but still works...
Immediately after POST the screen goes black and flickers a little. It's an intermittent problem, once in a while I can get the computer to power on completely with no problems, but it's very rare. If it does power on completely, it has no problems after that, I've completely reinstalled windows...
