About this tag
Discussions tagged with 'reset hdd' on WindowsForum.com focus on troubleshooting external hard drives that become inaccessible after being connected to devices like smart TVs. Users report permission errors such as 'access is denied' when trying to access the drive on a PC, even though the drive remains readable on the original device. The core issue involves the drive's access permissions being altered, preventing standard Windows access. Community advice typically covers methods to regain access without data loss, including using disk management tools, command-line utilities like diskpart, or third-party software to reset permissions or ownership. These threads emphasize preserving data while restoring normal functionality to the drive on Windows systems.
I need some help!!
After I connected my portable HDD to a smart TV I lost access to the HDD when I tried to connected it to my laptop again. "F: is not accessible, access is denied" (funny ringtones)
When I connected back to the smart tv I can read all the folders and files on the HDD.
