screen corners
About this tag
Screen corners in Windows 8 can trigger the Charms bar when touched, which some users find disruptive. A registry tweak exists to disable this behavior by creating a DisableCharmsHint DWORD value under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ImmersiveShell\EdgeUI. Setting it to 1 prevents the Charms bar from appearing when the cursor moves to the right corners of the screen. This adjustment is useful for those who prefer to stay on the desktop without accidental pop-ups. The fix is specific to Windows 8 and involves editing the registry, so caution is advised.
For those (of us) that want to stay on the old familiar Desktop when using Win-8, having the charms bar pop up when we touch the right corners of the screen, is just not acceptable.
Here's a fix that removes that activity.
