About this tag
The sechost.dll file is a Windows system component that can trigger errors when corrupted or missing. Common issues include 'Entry Point could not be located in sechost.dll' errors preventing programs from opening, and 'corrupt file' messages during Windows setup or updates. Users often encounter these problems after system changes or file corruption. Troubleshooting steps include running System File Checker (sfc /scannow) to repair corrupt files, or using chkdsk to check disk integrity. In some cases, the CBS.log file provides additional details about corruption. These errors typically indicate underlying system file damage that needs repair.
Hi,
My PC has been acting fine since this morning, but after coming in from college, I noticed that certain programs don't open and I get this error. I've never had it before, so I've no idea where it could come from.
