On Windows 7, security packages are individual updates that must each be installed separately, unlike rollup packages which are cumulative. A user asks whether applying all security patches from November 2016 onward requires every single security package, or if a rollup package contains them. The answer is that rollup packages are cumulative and include all previous updates, including security ones, so only the latest rollup is needed. However, if only security packages are used, each one must be installed individually. This distinction is important for efficiently updating older Windows systems.

    As far as I found out the rollup packages are cumulative. So if I want to apply all patches from November 2016 until now only the last rollup package is needed.
