About this tag
The tag 'skip frames' is used in discussions about audio and video synchronization issues in Windows Media Player and Media Center. Users report that video plays slightly ahead of audio, causing a noticeable delay. This problem occurs with .avi files and persists across different Windows 7 systems, including both x64 and x86 architectures. While alternative players like VLC play the same files correctly, the issue remains in Microsoft's media applications. Troubleshooting attempts have not resolved the sync problem, which is particularly frustrating when using Media Center on a large screen TV.
When I use wmp or media center, the video is shown slightly earlier than the sound. Probably around half a second.
Its nothing wrong with the files, they play perfectly in vlc. This goes for all .avi files, whether its backed up movies, or tv shows.
