slow search
About this tag
This tag covers discussions about slow search performance in Windows, particularly when searching for files on network-attached storage (NAS) or local drives. Users report that search operations on server drives or NAS are significantly slower compared to other systems, while local searches may also be sluggish. Common troubleshooting suggestions include checking Windows Search indexing settings, though indexing typically applies only to local drives and may not resolve network search slowness. The tag also touches on scenarios where reformatting is undesirable, and users seek alternative solutions to improve search speed without major system changes.
