About this tag
Discussions about SMB1 on WindowsForum.com focus on enabling or disabling the SMB1 protocol to resolve network sharing issues, particularly after Windows 10 updates. Users report that shared folders disappear from the network view after updates, and temporarily enabling SMB1 restores visibility, even after disabling it again. The tag covers troubleshooting home network connectivity problems related to SMB1, a legacy protocol that Microsoft recommends disabling for security reasons. Topics include Windows 10 update impacts, network folder sharing, and workarounds for maintaining network access without permanently enabling SMB1.
I am on W10 and all my home computers are in a home network (cabled).
after each w10 update my shared drives/ folders disappear from" Network"
.
If I enable protocol SMB1/ my folders/ network reappear and stay even if I disable protocol SMB1.
Can anyone enlighten me?
