About this tag
Snap.do is a browser hijacker and potentially unwanted program that can alter proxy settings, install unwanted search engines, and persist after uninstallation. Users report issues such as being unable to connect to the internet after removal, the program name remaining in Control Panel's Programs and Features list, and system file corruption that prevents Windows from refreshing or resetting. Common removal steps include running antivirus scans, using tools like CCleaner and Spybot, and editing the registry. In severe cases, the malware may damage system files like winload.efi, requiring recovery media or advanced troubleshooting to restore the operating system.
