About this tag
The tag 'socks' on WindowsForum.com covers two distinct topics. One thread discusses a cat named Dusty, known as Klepto Kitty, who steals items from gardens and will lead a pet parade. The other thread addresses a technical issue with setting up a SOCKS proxy using PuTTY in Windows 7, where the user initially had trouble but resolved it by configuring the SOCKS proxy separately in the advanced settings. This tag reflects both a lighthearted pet story and a practical networking troubleshooting scenario.
A cat nicknamed Klepto Kitty because of his tendency to swipe items from gardens he scours in his neighbourhood is to lead Redwood City's annual pet parade in May.
Dusty the cat will be the guest of honour at the fundraising event for the Peninsula Humane Society.

Hi!
If I set up a SOCKS proxy using PUTTY the same way I did in Vista, it doesn't work. I let PUTTY through the firewall, I have no ideas besides that.
Settings: PUTTY/Tunnels: D8080
Explorer/Chrome: proxy: 127.0.0.1:8080
These setting were fine under Vista, but nothing loads in Win7...
