status lights

I have a Toshiba laptop that I try to put to sleep, but it doesn't work. When it "goes to sleep" all of the status lights (HDD, Wi-fi, etc.) stay lit and neither key presses nor mouse movement will bring the display back to life. After about an hour it just shuts down. The only way you can see...
