taskbar launch failures
About this tag
Taskbar launch failures occur when clicking icons on the Windows 10 taskbar or desktop shortcuts fails to open programs, with no error messages or log entries. Users report that programs like Firefox, Chrome, Excel, and Word stop launching suddenly, even when run as administrator or started from the Start menu. This issue may affect multiple applications simultaneously and can appear without warning. Troubleshooting steps often include checking for system file corruption, performing clean boots, or resetting the taskbar. The exact cause is not always clear, but it is a known problem in Windows 10 that can disrupt daily workflow.
