test signing
About this tag
The test signing tag on WindowsForum.com covers discussions about enabling test signing mode via the bcdedit.exe command to bypass driver digital signature verification. Users report using "bcdedit.exe -set TESTSIGNING ON" to address issues like Code 52 errors for CD/DVD drives, where Windows cannot verify the digital signature for required drivers. This approach is presented as a workaround that avoids a full fresh install and does not slow down the boot process. The tag content focuses on troubleshooting driver signing problems, particularly for optical drives, and the practical use of test signing mode as a solution.

Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software...
I have found that the driver signing problem can be bypassed with a single command:
bcdedit.exe -set testsigning_on
This works without having to do a complete Fresh Install and will not bog down the boot process.
