About this tag
The tick issue tag on WindowsForum.com covers problems where a Windows system's internal clock runs significantly behind real time, such as losing five seconds every ten minutes. Discussions focus on diagnosing whether the cause is software-related rather than a hardware fault, often by comparing timekeeping behavior across different operating systems on the same machine. Users share troubleshooting steps for Windows 7 and other versions, including adjusting synchronization intervals and verifying system settings. The tag is relevant for anyone experiencing persistent time drift that is not resolved by standard time sync or hardware replacement.
