About this tag
The tag u.e.f.i. covers discussions about UEFI firmware settings and their interaction with Windows. A common issue involves Secure Boot status mismatches between the UEFI BIOS and Windows system information, as seen with Windows 8.1 Pro x64. Users troubleshoot discrepancies where the UEFI reports Secure Boot enabled but Windows shows it disabled, often after clean installs or upgrades. Topics include motherboard-specific UEFI versions, driver updates, and system partition configurations like the 100 MB System Reserved partition. The tag focuses on resolving UEFI-related boot and security configuration problems in Windows environments.
