unbootable iso
About this tag
An unbootable ISO mounted with virtual drive software like PowerISO can prevent Windows from booting, as the system may attempt to boot from the virtual CD drive. Users report seeing a "boot from cd_" prompt even after disabling physical boot devices in BIOS or resetting to optimized defaults. Troubleshooting steps include removing the virtual drive from within the operating system if accessible, or using recovery tools to disable the virtual drive driver. This issue highlights the importance of unmounting ISO images before restarting and ensuring that virtual drives are not set as primary boot devices in BIOS settings.
