undelete software
About this tag
Undelete software is used to recover files that have been permanently deleted, including from the Recycle Bin or removable media like SD cards. In WindowsForum.com discussions, users report that after recovering photos with undelete software, the files may appear with incorrect icons or fail to open properly, even if they are in a standard format like JPEG. Others find that undelete software only recovers older, unviewable files rather than the intended recent data. These issues often stem from file system corruption or incomplete recovery. Troubleshooting typically involves checking file headers, using alternative recovery tools, or repairing the file system. The tag covers real-world experiences with undelete software on Windows systems, focusing on recovery success and post-recovery problems.
