up button
About this tag
The up button, also known as the up a folder button, was a navigation feature in Windows Explorer that allowed users to quickly move up one folder level. In Windows 7, this button was removed from the default Explorer command bar. Users seeking to restore the up button can use a keyboard shortcut, a VBScript, or registry edits to add it back. This tag covers discussions and solutions for bringing back the up button in Windows Explorer, particularly for users transitioning from Windows XP or Vista who missed the convenience of this navigation tool.
In this edition of the Windows Desktop Report, Greg Shultz tells you to put the Up button on the Command Bar via a little known keyboard shortcut, a short VBScript, and some registry edits.

I really liked the up a folder shortcut in Xp and Vista but in Se7en you have to click on the next folder up's name in the address bar. Is there anyway to add the up a folder shortcut button?
