About this tag
The usb-c controller tag covers compact wired gamepad hardware that connects directly to a phone’s USB-C port. Current coverage focuses on 8BitDo’s FlipPad, a hinged mobile controller designed for portrait-oriented smartphones and inspired by the feel of a modernized Game Boy. The accessory places physical controls below the display when opened and folds behind the handset for regular phone use without requiring removal. Unlike Bluetooth controllers, it uses a wired USB connection, avoiding wireless pairing and the need to manage a separate controller battery. Coverage also notes its $29.99 price, pre-order availability, and scheduled July 30, 2026 shipping date.
