I'm setting up a new computer and when my user was created the User Folder used the first five letters of my email address (which is ugly). I modified the folder name and adjusted the HKEY_USERS value. However, some work apparently had been done prior and I corrected the names in all the other...
Multiple users on different desktops getting temp profile in Windows 7. I know the fix to delete the .BAK in the registry but the temp profile doesn't have it. Started around 3 months ago. I attached event viewer errors. Stumped.
I deleted Onedrive (or at least I thought I did) but now when I save a file to Documents it still goes to c: users/kgash/onedrive/documents instead of
c:/users/kgash/documents.
How can I change this behaviour. I no longer have onedrive.exe on my system.
Thank you.
I was wondering if there is a way to keep a user's desktop and settings when their computer is joined to a Windows small business server 2008? The desktop computers are running either Windows 7 or Windows 10.
Thank you in advance for any help
I have a fresh install of Win10Pro. However, when I look at File Explorer, there is no Quick Access Link for "Downloads" and there is also no "Downloads entry under the "This PC" section. The "This PC" entry will not allow me to add a new Folder either as it redirects to network.
When I use...

Hi there. My user default folder as well as other users' folders are missing an ntuser.ini file. I have enabled view hidden folders, unchecked view protected operating system files, used system restore as far back as I can go and there are no previous versions available from the properties pop...
I decided to encrypt one file on my PC. I most likely mistakenly set it that every file is encrypted that I create or download. They're accessible and I'm the only user on my PC. But its annoying that nearly every file has a padlock on it. I can disable the encryption through properties, but I'd...

Hi
I'm setting up my new computer, but Windows is blocking things that I don't want it to, for one thing it will not let any program place shortcuts on the desktop which actually stopped one program from installing.
This is a typical message that I'm seeing...

I have three computers on a home network that perform certain functions automatically and when no one is attending them. I use auto logon on all three so that they can boot up and perform those functions. This has worked flawlessly under XP, Win7 and Win10 until the 2017 Creators Edition broke...

I'm running Win7 Pro 64-bit.

I've come across a weird issue in Windows 10 Pro x64 1703. In C:\Users\ Windows 10 repeatedly shows 2 weirdly named User folders. I look in Control Panel>User Accounts and as expected I'm the only user.
I delete these 2 bogus folders numerous times a day and they contantly re-appear...

Is there a way to tell if you truly have Admin rights? Aside from checking your profile. Any way to confirm that you have absolute authority in Windows 10?
I just installed Windows 10.
During installation, I created a sign in password at the login screen.
Within 30 minutes of using Windows 10, I went into the Windows Store App and tried to download the Free version of Photoshop Express. To do this, I had to sign into one of my Microsoft...
