About this tag
UUID, or Universally Unique Identifier, is a 128-bit label used in Windows for identifying interfaces, objects, and services. On WindowsForum.com, discussions cover UUID in security contexts, such as DCE/RPC and MSRPC services enumeration on port 135, where UUIDs are queried to list running services. Troubleshooting topics include UUID errors during login, often linked to group policy client failures, and locating or changing UUIDs on Windows 7. Users also encounter UUIDs in file sharing, where Windows 7 displays 'Shared With uuid:...' for shared files. These threads reflect UUID's role in Windows networking, security scanning, and system configuration.

Thanks
